Opening Words
The first couple of minutes of your ceremony are vital for your officiant to:
1) Set the appropriate tone, energy and atmosphere for your ceremony
2) Communicate the beauty & purpose of your ceremony
3) Thank your guests and honour them for their participation in your celebration
Consider to share with your officiant:
a) the atmosphere / emotion you would like your ceremony to hold: fun / romantic / casual / formal / traditional
b) your religious / non-religious beliefs, values
c) focus of the ceremony
Also consider reflecting with each other and then sharing the following with your officiant to further help him personalize your ceremony:
How you met?
How you knew you should be married?
Your Engagement story?
How you fit together and / or complement each other as a couple
Anything about your faith as it relates to your relationship and marriage
Your future dreams?
